The Lewiston earned the name “Banana Belt” due to the mild winter climate. This allows golf courses in the valley are open for business year round. There are four 18 - hole courses in the area, all offering full amenities and are challenging to play. Just another reason why Lewiston is a hole-in-one destination.

With the help of a local outfitter, explore the scenic rivers that flow through our scenic region. Whitewater seekers go for the Middle Fork of the Salmon, Lochsa, Selway, or the Snake River through Hells Canyon. Outfitters take care of everything on these trips. They row the rafts or lead guests who paddle their own.

From local youth teams and tournaments to college level you are able to enjoy sports of all kind in Lewiston. We are located close to Moscow and Pullman where you could catch some Vandal basketball or a Cougar football game. We are big sports fans around here!

NEZ PERCE CENTER & MUSEUM

Nez Perce Statue in Lewiston

The Nez Perce Native Americans have inhabited the Clearwater and Snake River valleys for over 11,000 years. The Nez Perce National Historical Park is a complete informational center and museum featuring historical displays and interpretive programs about the rich history and customs of the Nez Perce Tribe. Pow wows and other community events occur throughout the year. 

WINTER SPIRIT LIGHTS

Each December in Locomotive Park, located right across from Hells Canyon Grand Hotel, a festive holiday light displayed is installed. A large fireplace provides warmth as you explore the spectacular display.  Truly a great way to kick off the holiday season!

HELLS GATE STATE PARK

Hells Gate State Park is a public recreation area located at the Snake River's downstream entrance to Hells Canyon, the deepest canyon in North America. The park is perfect for fishing, picnicking, bike rides, camping and more. So much beauty to be discovered!
